We are pleased to announce that we have been shortlisted in the medium-sized business category of the 2021 Inspire Business Awards. The Awards celebrate businesses in north Hampshire, allowing them to highlight their achievements locally.
Part of the award criteria was to demonstrate how the business overcame challenges to drive forward and exceed objectives. Due to COVID-19, there is no doubt that 2020 was one of the most challenging years for many businesses, and we were no different. But, remaining as resourceful and resilient as ever, our team adapted quickly to the challenges. In fact, understanding how we could help businesses struggling to adapt, we looked for new opportunities.
We helped medical respiratory manufacturer, Intersurgical, rapidly increase their ventilator tube production process, which was obviously much needed during the first wave of the pandemic in the UK.
We also began working with Heathrow Airport towards the beginning of the first lockdown in 2020, helping them quickly meet the implementations they needed to manage COVID-19 safety measures. Working with their design team, we developed modular safety guard solutions that could be integrated into various areas where significant people interaction took place, such as bag search areas, baggage carousels and security lanes. These were manufactured and installed within weeks, which is one of the key advantages of our MiniTec product. The flexibility of the modular profile system allows for fast deployment of any end solution, which was ideal in this instant to react to the safety measures required.
MiniTec MD Gary Livingstone said:
“When the COVID-19 outbreak happened last year, we knew as a company that we could design and manufacture systems that could help companies that needed to stay open and operate in a safe and secure way.
“By being shortlisted for this award, we hope this highlights how much the dedication and hard work of how staff means to us during what has been a very hard year.”
“Our production facility remained open and operational throughout 2020 and the lockdowns thanks to the dedication and commitment of the entire team, which allowed several other businesses to continue trading safely.”
