When it comes to product testing, this client in the automotive industry required a bespoke apparatus to test the shape and angles of handrails so that holes could positioned and drilled accurately.
The individual handrails are mounted in the test apparatus and checked for shape with both position and dimensional accuracy of bolt-down holes measured and controlled.
The middle slider (sliding carriage LWG 45/45-90 degrees) with slide clamp is adjustable in height and can be set manually depending on the holding rod type.
Design
The testing apparatus is 1200 mm x 1200 mm x 2755 mm and includes eight test areas (four either side and two side lamps. The upper support is made of abrasion-resistant plastic for extra durability.
The shape of the handrails is checked with the custom semi-circular plexiglass panes. When the bar is in the correct position, the drilling position is displayed on a 360-degree display.
